This is where it starts- the battle in my heart. I know where it goes. I've got all the notes. I am the king of this castle (I sing myself a tune) I will build myself a chair (You lyres (liars) and you lutes) Shining gold and sparkling diamonds (Pluck your strings for me) Anywhere and everywhere (And make me happy)

There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Emmanuel’s veins; And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains. Lose all their guilty stains, lose all their guilty stains; And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains. When this poor lisping, stammering tongue lies silent in the grave. Then in a nobler, sweeter song, I’ll sing Thy power to save. I’ll sing Thy power to save I’ll sing Thy power to save. Then in a nobler, sweeter song, I’ll sing Thy power to save. The dying thief rejoiced to see that fountain in his day; And there have I, though vile as he, washed all my sins away. Washed all my sins away, washed all my sins away; And there have I, though vile as he, washed all my sins away.

ST. ANTHONY 03:38
What makes you think that I have to bring songs that are greater than St. Anthony's? A work of art so fresh and free with these old songs and rusty strings I feel the pull away from home I feel the pull to build this throne What makes you think that I have to bring songs that are greater than St. Anthony's? I feel the pull away from home I feel the pull away I feel the pull away from home I feel the pull to build this throne

When my salt had lost its taste passion and all love erased darkest night and empty day my Savior finds me there When of gold I make a crown and idol of a happy sound dissonance and hollow ground my Savior finds me there Oh the joy that Jesus brings sweet paradox at Calvary A smile from a holy tree my Savior bled and died for me Older wineskins to replace broken glasses filled with grace land where I can see your face my Savior guide me there my Savior guide me there my Savior guide me there

about

THE VERY FIRST is the story of a man going out and coming home again, learning, forgetting, finding contentment, relishing in half-loves (to soon forget them), and finally, marinating in the contentment brought only by the knowledge that God is good. The man selfishly builds a throne for himself and allows it to be destroyed time and time again, with varying completion and intensity, ultimately finding rest, his home.
