When I am dryness You are rain You are the color When I am gray and You are motion I’m still I am far but You are near Sing now, sing now Bleed out, bleed out My tears are rollin’ Down your cheeks the “pious” bombing In their streets and The blood is flowing The pieces fall Arms and legs and teeth and all But sing “Hallelujah” I’m disconcerted With faulty truths Who am I and Who are you? well.. I’m a brother And so are you When can we sing in peace again our “Hallelujah’s”?

Bake 02:54
With all the guns on the moon, would our hate bleed out? We’ll bake a cake with our neighbors and party loud [2x] Oh ah oh [2x] We’ll play our flutes, the flood has come and the fire’s out The sweet sun glows, tans our skin, and we’re laying out Our sins our loves our games our joy and our weaknesses Waiting for Jesus to show us what real love is En vez de bombas pistolas, matanza (Instead of bombs, pistols, killing) Existe paz, la esperanza mañana (Peace and hope exist tomorrow) Corre el sangre y lloran las mujeres (The blood flows and the women weep) Corre el sangre y lloran las mujeres (The blood flows and the women weep) With all the guns on the moon, would our hate bleed out? We’ll bake a cake with our neighbors and party loud Pull out your roots from all the blood, all the oil The tree of peace grows we dance on it’s soil

Peace 02:33
Climb a wall into our hearts and let us know we’re free Like the soil, grow a flower, miracles of peace Imagination like a child, give us eyes to see Wonder, mystery, joy, and love be manifest in us God of Peace, we need You now God of Peace, we need You now

about

"Dana" - term from the ancient Mahayana Buddhist tradition meaning 'generosity' in which we do what we can in order to benefit others without seeing ourselves as the helpers and the others as the helped.
The intent of this project is simply to say "Thank You" to all of you. In my eyes, you are an image of the beginning (and the continuation) of what is right in the world -- what is colorful and beautiful, what is holy. I hope these songs and poems can in some way benefit you. They have come out of conversations with you. They're the result of years of wrestling and struggle through this dirty world. I do not claim them to be ultimate truth, but I do believe bits of truth can be found in them. Where real, ultimate, lasting Peace is the end, Christ must have been the beginning. So again, thank you for being Christ to me in so many ways -- even if you do not necessarily claim to be a Christian. This has meant a glass of milk, the singing of a song, a late night trip to the hospital, a hilarious joke, a ridiculous circumstance, a haircut, a painting, endless front porch conversations, a willing hand to help a child learn, a 3:30 AM phone call, a sharing of the sacraments, a sharing of converse all-stars, an ear to listen, a voice to speak, the gift of physical presence.
